IxNetwork : Using IxNetwork NextGEN Framework Blog-2

In my previous blog I have explained the process to add Ixia chassis and ports to the IxNetwork application. Please check my previous blog here

In this blog I am going to configure IP connectivity between DUT and the Ixia chassis.

Step 1 : When you open IxNetwork application you would see following screen. You need to click on New topology option to add ports to your topology. Choose ports which are connected to DUT.

Step 3: You will be provided protocol page where you can select all the protocols that you want to enable between DUT and Ixia. Here I am just selecting IPv4 as I  need to check basic connectivity between the router and Ixia port. Click on Finish.

Step 4 : Ixia will automatically take you to the scenario page where the topology is visible.  At this point we have port added to our topology, to test basic connectivity we must have IP address configured on DUT interface and on Ixia port.

Step 5 : Left side of the screen you will see IPv4 tab under NextGen framework. Click on IPv4 option to configure IP address and gateway for Ixia port. Make sure you assign same subnet IP address as configured on DUT interface connected to Ixia.

Step 6 : Once this is done, right click on port and start it. This should bring up the connection and you can ping Ixia port IP address from the DUT.

Router#ping 20.20.20.2
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 20.20.20.2, timeout is 2 seconds:
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 1/2/4 ms
